The artwork is grounded in a figurative landscape composition, where layered peaks and cascading waterfalls form a structure that is both clear and stable. Yet, what truly drives the rhythm of the image is not the solidity of the mountains themselves, but the expanses of white clouds and flowing water rendered through color-ink. As clouds drift and waterfalls descend, the brushwork shifts between substance and emptiness, transforming the scene from stillness into motion and revealing an inner dynamic charged with tension.

Wu Deng Yi skillfully draws upon the intrinsic qualities of color-ink as a medium, allowing pigment and ink to move beyond the mere depiction of natural form toward deeper modes of perception.
