「The Essence of Shan Shui」

The curatorial rationale of this exhibition is to show that Shanshui in artists’ minds is the essence of art. In this exhibition, we would showcase a series of 2021-2022 Wu Deng-yi’s Contemporary Color Ink Shanshui paintings. Since the outbreak of the COVID-19, the lockdown and restricted entry policies keep people apart. However, Shanshui in artists’ minds is the inspiration of their art creation which would never be blocked.

About Wu Dengyi Art Museum

Wu Dengyi Art Museum was established in Taipei—the Taipei 101— in 2020. In August 2022, our museum settles on and renovates the historic buildings built in 1875. As a private art museum, our collection of works are created by Taiwanese artist Wu Deng-yi. However, we also contacted and began to cooperate with many overseas art institutions to build an international art collection network from the year of 2022. Our goal is to increase the representation of more Taiwanese and foreign artists after our opening on the new site. Soon, we would start an international artist residency program to increase more exchanges between Taiwanese and overseas artists on our platform.
