Beautiful World Wu Deng-yi International Tour Set Sail

Wu Deng-yi, who has been recognized by the art circles on both sides of the Taiwan Strait for his creation in color and ink, has created Wu Dengyi Art Museum in Taipei 101 in October last year. This year, it also announced the release of new products and an international tour. It is expected to visit the world within 5 years from June this year. In more than 60 cities, in addition to touring exhibitions, they also participate in art fairs, or in various forms such as art salons, presenting their color ink philosophy combining Chinese and Western techniques.

Wu Deng-yi was born in Puli, Nantou. He has been in creation for a period of time and has won many awards, including the first place in the Lu Guang Art Exhibition, the third place in the Cultural Works Exhibition of the Executive Yuan, and the Mayor of Tsushima Award in the Sino-Japanese Friendship Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition. In 2009, he was selected as the “The Most Influential Chinese Artist “, has held several solo exhibitions in Japan and Korea. In addition to the establishment of an art museum in Taipei 101, the Wu Dengyi Art Museum located on Hong Kong East Road in Qingdao, designed by Taiwan’s Li Zuyuan Office, is expected to become Wu Deng-yi’s international color and ink art exhibition center.

Wang Xinli, chairman of Taiwan’s Superior Industry Foreign Cooperation Committee, pointed out at the press conference of the international tour that the United States, China, and the United Kingdom have captured 82% of the total turnover in the art market. Among them, Chinese artists are expected to have high growth space, such as Zhang Daqian, Qi Baishi, Zao Wou-Ki , Fu Baoshi, Wu Guanzhong, especially in the auction market favored by Chinese collectors and set a record of climbing.

Next, Wu Deng-yi’s global tour will start from Taipei, focusing on both sides of the Taiwan Strait and promoting it internationally. This year, in addition to Taipei, there will also be tours in Beijing, Shanghai and other stations. It will also simultaneously promote participation in well-known art fairs such as Taipei Art Fair, Art Beijing, Hong Kong Art Fair, Shenzhen Art Fair, and Singapore International Art Fair.

“Although Wu Deng-yi is 70 years old, his use of colors and thinking is very young, and he is not traditional at all. His techniques are diverse and present his unique color and ink style.” Wang Xinli pointed out that Wu Deng-yi takes “new” as the theme and keeps exploring, Contemporary colored ink, modern abstraction, fine brushwork painting and even blue and white colored porcelain are all strong points, and the works make people feel immersive.

Gao Chongyun, former director of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, Li Yongping, former deputy mayor of Taipei City, Yu Muming, honorary chairman of the New Party, and Zhang Ronggong, former deputy secretary-general of the Kuomintang, all attended the torch launch ceremony. It has a touching charm; Li Yongping pointed out that Wu Deng-yi’s works have a 21st century vocabulary, and can communicate with the world through Chinese artists.

Wu Gongrui, a professor at Taiwan Arts University, also pointed out through the film that Wu Deng-yi’s works are majestic and diverse, and his works can feel the inner spirit of fearlessness; Zeng Sulliang, a professor at Taiwan Normal University, also said in the film that Wu Deng-yi’s works show the unity of nature and benevolence with the graceful bearing, the global tour exhibition can also announce to the West the birth of the new art of oriental color ink.
